Transformers…a lot more than meets the eye

I love Michale Bay. I loved him before, I love him even more now. Transformers was simply great. I can’t find something that I would have changed from this great, great film. Save for maybe some 3 or 4 more hours of movie, it is perfect.
I had feared that this would be one film ruined by its own popularity, quirks (take from the cartoons and even the toys) and Hollywood, but I can say its the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. The Autobots were depicted as the kind, comprehensive, yet strong willed warriors they were in the animated series. Decepticons are still the maniacal, overpowering evil being they were envisioned to be from the start. Bumbble Bee, I would say, captured all the great charisma he had in the animated series. He loves humans and will defend them, that is what I got from him. Just MARVELOUS!!
Voice work was top-notch. Listening to Optimu’s voice evoked old memories of Prime and Megatron fighting. It made me smile and jump on my seat, while at the same time fantasizing about me being the king of the Autobots. Damn, I wish this had never ended. These were the best $9, 2 hours and 20 minutes and 1 gallon of gasoline I’ve spent just to watch a movie.
Please, if you were born in the 80’s, you owe it to yourselves to watch this movie. If you don’t know anything about Transformers and you were born two decades ago, I recommend you ask your parents why they deprived you of such good entertainment. Then head to the nearest movie theater and watch it. You won’t regret it.
