Leopard is out!

Leopard T-Shirt

Yes, this day has finally come!! Leopard is out. Although I don’t have my copy of the upgrade yet because Apple just shipped it this morning, I’m still happy because I got a Leopard T-Shirt from the Glendale Galleria Apple Store :D

I was also able to try Leopard out today at the lab because a friend got his copy early this morning and I was besides him after he installed it. I also tried Leopard briefly while at the Apple Store. Most of what I saw were welcome changes, but they were evolutionary more than anything else. If anything, they make Mac OS X an even better and more mature OS.

The iPod Nano was also on display, as expected, and it amazed me so much. I never thought it was such a small and sleek package. Great job Apple!

Why I will keep using FedEx

MBP Unpacked

For those of you that don’t know, when I moved from Tallahassee to LA, I shipped my things using FedEx ground. Turns out the only thing that didn’t arrive was my computer! My huge, bulky, 70 pound G5 was lost. After a lot of emails, phone calls and searching, FedEx determined that it would pay me.

On September 20th, I got a check from them and two days later I bought a brand new MacBook Pro! So I got the MBP on Tuesday and its fast and light and I love it, but I’m still missing my data. At least some of it I didn’t backup, God knows why!

So today at 5:39 AM, while sound asleep, FedEx calls: they found my computer and want to know what to do. After speaking with them, I would have to give them the money back if I wanted the computer. NO WAY! I like the new one, only thing useful there is my data. So after sweet talking the rep., I got their IT department to send all the data :)

I can’t complain about about them, although two months of school went by without a computer, I managed to live through and now I have best of both worlds, my data and a new computer!
